Python 3: no es serializable JSON

Tengo un progtwig que agrega esto a una cadena JSON, que funciona bien para la mayoría de las cadenas de texto, pero aparentemente no. ¿Puedes decir por qué no, o cómo solucionarlo?

Esto no es una cadena, sino una secuencia de bytes. JSON solo sabe cómo manejar cadenas de Unicode, no secuencias de bytes. Puede transformar en Unicode ( json.dumps(x.decode("utf-8")) ), o en una matriz de enteros ( json.dumps(list(x)) ).

Considere instalar y usar simplejson , que puede manejar cadenas de bytes además de unicode, para instalarlo use el siguiente comando:

 pip3 install simplejson

 import simplejson as json json.dumps({b'name': b'dev'})
